Sexually transmitted diseases are called STDs in short. There are different forms of STDs. Actually, STD is a combination of diseases which contain Gonorrhoea, Herpes, Genital Warts etc. The first thing to do after being diagnosed with an STD is to get treatment for the disease if there is anything available and the next thing is to inform the partner about the diagnosis because there are chances that the partner is also affected by the disease. STD’s and STD testing campaigns help people to know about the symptoms, diagnosis, and treatments of that disease. Gonorrhea is one of the common sexual diseases which can transmit by any means of sex. Mouth, penis, vagina, anus anything can be the source of the infection and it can simply continue growing in the warm and moist parts of the body. However, prevention is better than cure. There are ways that can be used to prevent STDs. Simply using a condom while having sex can block most of the STDs.

Sexually transmitted diseases usually transmit from the liquids that are discharged from the body of the infected person. Blood, mucous, semen, vaginal discharge etc. contains the bacteria that causes the disease. These STDs can be transmitted from an infected person to a healthy person can cause problems. Usually, if people have sex without protection, these diseases transmit from one to another. There are some other ways by which STDs are transferred to one another. As blood contains the bacteria to transmit STDs, people who take blood can be affected. Needles, surgery materials etc. should be used for only once. However there are needles and blades of trimmers, piercing and tattoos are often not changed every time. People who use drugs are most likely to get infected by STDs as they usually share a single needle to push drugs. Also, some of the addicted persons have a tendency to have sexual relations with random people. This increase the chance of being affected by STDs. Some STDs are incurable like the HIV. A person should remember that even doing these for a single time can be the cause of a lifetime infection. However, STDs do not transmit by being close to an infected person. Like eating, living in the same house, sharing a room or getting bug bites will not share the diseases that are sexually transmitted. These diseases were named as STDs because these are usually transmitted by sexual relations.

Protection does not guarantee the full safety of the person if the partner is infected. So it is always necessary to keep a distance from having sexual relationships with an STD patient. The one and only solution could be to abstain from sex before getting married. Even if the person abstains from sex before marriage, if the partner is infected with STDs the person will eventually get affected. So both of the partners should have a test before getting sexually involved.

There are some STDs that gradually kill the bearer. So everyone should be careful about STDs.
